A Cleaner Machine Means Cleaner Clothes

How to care for your washing machine for fresher, more reliable results

A poorly maintained washing machine can leave residue, odors, and dirt on clothes. Regular cleaning and correct usage help ensure better washing performance, fresher results, and more reliable care for fabrics.

Your washing machine can work against you

If clothes come out less fresh than expected, the machine itself may be part of the problem. Residue, trapped moisture, and dirt build up inside the drum, seal, drawer, and filter over time. This can transfer back onto clothes and reduce cleaning efficiency.

How to clean and maintain your washing machine

  1. Run a hot empty maintenance cycle once a month and clean the filter

Lint, hair, and small particles collect there and can affect drainage. If water drains poorly, cleaning performance drops too. Read the machine instructions to see how to clean the filter properly.

Do this: Use a high temperature (like 90°C) empty cycle to remove hidden residue and stale buildup from the drum and internal system. This is especially useful if you often wash at lower temperatures.

  2. Wipe the rubber seal after washing and leave the door open slightly

Air circulation is one of the simplest ways to reduce moisture-related odor. Even a small opening helps the inside dry faster.

Do this: Check the folds of the seal for moisture, lint, and trapped small items. Wiping it dry after the last wash of the day reduces odor formation.

  3. Rinse the detergent drawer regularly

If detergent or softener hardens inside the drawer, less product reaches the wash correctly. Remove the drawer and rinse off visible buildup.

Do this: Measure with the Savex cap and place it directly in the drum with the laundry. This supports even distribution, cleaner rinsing, avoids overdosing and helps reduce product build-up inside the machine.
